Summary Remarks
Problems of Hunt:only two males sighted in 3 days of hunting (6 trips to the various stands). PH had not hunted this area but only a few days before our arrival
Highlights of Hunt:seeing Moose and Feral Boar at a distance. Camp was excellent although not owned or managed by the outfitter
Equipment Recommendations:colder than the U.S. in August; bring warmer clothes than you typically would. Be prepared to shoot from an elevated stand although I shot my Roe Deer from a ground-level blind
Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend?no
Why?This was a donated hunt through SCI. I did no research, nor did I ask nearly enough questions before purchase or traveling. Simple issues like added fees, expectations and ultimately your guide's familiarity with a particular area or the outfitter's camp, equipment or daily plans should be discussed well in advance. There is obviously a language barrier (at least on my end). We were disappointed.

Additional Hunter Comments and/or Outfitter/Booking Agent Rebuttals
Russia is a beautiful country and surprisingly easy to navigate once you arrive. Planning travel, securing permits, visas and day-to-day hunting activities or plans may be a little difficult - depends on your expectations. In my mind I went to shoot a trophy Roe Deer as Siberian Roe Deer are noted to be the largest of the species. In reality this area offered only a few opportunities having spent hours sitting morning and evening on stands. If diet or meals are important I suggest you plan far in advance of arrival. I have purchased many hunts donated at SCI over the years - I feel with this particular outfit their commitment to my success and experience was lacking.
