Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend?yes
Why?I applied 18 years before getting drawn. Worth it. I also met two guys who only had applied 4 years for their draw. Just the luck of the random draw. Unimak is one of the wildest, most remote places you will ever hunt on this planet. It's like the peninsula and the rest of Alaska was 200 years ago.

Additional Hunter Comments and/or Outfitter/Booking Agent Rebuttals
Rod Schuh is a quality outfitter and person. He only wants you to be successful with a very large bear. Great pilot and safe. It's the hunt of a lifetime for the largest land carnivores on earth. Seeing 7 or 8 bears on a 50 foot beached whale carcass was a thrill on the flight back to Cold Bay. It, evidently, is not an uncommon occurrence. Be in shape. It's not a sheep hunt, but can be physical with long miles, but most climbs are easy. Take good glass. Glassing, as is often the case, is 90% of the hunt. Be patient. It's one of the few places in the world where you will pass up 9 1/2 foot bears because there's a larger one around the corner. Most bears have never seen a human being. My hunt officially lasted one day, but come prepared with plenty of patience. It will be worth it.
