Summary Remarks
Problems of Hunt:None. The best organized, most efficient hunt of my 12 African safaris.
Highlights of Hunt:Taking trophy suni--one of the most difficult animals to take in all of southern Africa--in last 10 minutes after 2.5 long, hard days of hunting dawn to dusk. Getting caracal and serval after many years of effort. Very exciting taking caracal with hounds. Extraordinary success in a very limited time frame and a whirlwind hunt, staying in four different locations. Great week spent with PH Garth Lee, a superb hunter, host and all-around good guy.
Equipment Recommendations:Very cold nights. Be prepared if you're hunting after dark. Gloves, warm hat and coat. Legelela kindly allows you to use their firearms at no cost if you wish to avoid taking your own.
Would You Recommend This Hunt to a Friend?yes
Why?Legelela Safaris has an uncanny ability to know exactly where to go to secure the animals you are after. This was a specialty hunt for me primarily to secure a serval and caracal, which had eluded me for years. Suni an add-on, glad I did it. Many RSA outfitters have extensive trophy lists, but Legelela is the only safari company I have experienced that can almost guarantee a chance at whatever species you seek, no matter how obscure. Success rates are extraordinary. They know where to go and where to stay. Exceptional people and accommodations, extremely efficient and professional. Highly recommended and great fun.
