Andy Wulf, owner of Whitetail Ridge Outfitters, has been arrested on felony charges for scamming hunters. Whitetail Ridge operates in southern Iowa and northern Missouri. An investigation began in the fall of 2016 after hunters contacted the sheriff’s office complaining that they paid for guided hunts but never received the services promised.
Stories posted on a Facebook page contend that Wulf dropped hunters in areas with no deer sign and even on properties he didn’t have permission to hunt. Additionally, he allegedly abandoned hunters at motels without returning calls or texts.
Wulf had previously run afoul hunting regulations, having been cited by the Iowa DNR of aiding and abetting clients on an illegal deer hunt. In that case, DRN found piles of corn, alfalfa and minerals on properties where Wulf was guiding.
